A continuation of was going to make

Making the fountain pen holders. I cropped the pictures so they don't have as much background and not so busy.

The two started as these

And became these.

I only used polyurethane on them. I was worried about the bark coming off and some point and it still may, but as for now the polyurethane works just fine. It darkened the wood a bit. Its interesting and it is my first attempt in real live edges.

Was going to make....

This

It broke right along the drilled hole line. It was going to be a fountain pen block. I had some 2x4 spruce around doing nothing and well, it didn't work out.

However, I had some tree parts that were in the bed of the truck and waiting to figure out what to do with them. Needless to say, it looked right. I need to do some more sanding then coat them with probably polyurethane, but I may go with tung oil. I haven't decided yet.

These two should be nice fountain pen holders. Once they are coated, I will post a pic or two of them.

Organizing

The shed is full and disorganized. I made these little boxes to help organize my loose wood scraps that I think I could possibly need in the future. I had scrap plywood and made it work.

I then noticed that I had some luan 7x7 squares and some small scrap pieces of wood. I could not cut any smaller. I made these whimsical shelves. The small pieces of wood are air stapled and glued. I need to sand them now.

They would hold very small items and can be painted or stained.
