I made these for Mom's gallery.
They need to be painted but it shows 5.
Now 4.
Both of the ones on the far left can go inside the bigger one once it is turned upside down. It just gives another option and more dimension if needed. They can also be used as fancy trash cans upside down.
The 2 on the right of first 2 pictures can also be go either way. If you want a flat display shelf, keep it that way. If you want a shelf to contain things, then choose that way.

Art Cart
I built these little art carts. They really aren't little. They are about 16"x16"x36" overall ht with casters. I painted the m with a mistinted color. I saved money that way. They are built out of 1x material that I ripped to size. The ahelf sides are 3-1/2" the corners are about 1-1/2"/ It is all glued and screwesd and sanded and sanded and sanded. I am really proud of them. I plan on making another style out of a sheet of plywood. I want to do a video of that and will post when made.

and cedar planters
Below are planters made of cedar. I used 1x4's and the bands are cut down 1x4's. The bigger boxes have cypress siding. Neither will rot very quickly. I sold one of the middle sizes already and hope to have another sold this week. Time will tell.

Little Jewelry Boxes
I like making little boxes like these. These are made of walnut and coated with polyurethane.
I take the same size pieces but one of them I split in half. The thickest one has a large hole drilled in it and a small hole for the pivot dowel.. I drill the top piece at the same time as it is attached to the middle thick section. I sand then glue and clamp the bottom blank on the thick middle section. After it dries, I sand again and make sure dowel is set correctly and glue that into top. Sand some more. Once I am satisfied with everything, I coat with polyurethane.

even more boxes
These are probably my favorite boxes so far. I made them for me and my brushes and pens. They are made of black walnut. There are holes in the wood. There is bark. The corners are simple and glued. The wood has a beautiful texture. I used spray lacquer. With all the flaws, they are perfect for me.
And more boxes. I have plenty that need to get a coat of polyurethane. I also have some cutting boards that need to be finished. I hope to do them later this week or next. I will be going to the flea market to sell some of the crates and cards if it isn't raining that day. I will take a couple of paintings too. Who knows, .maybe someone will want to buy something.

It will hold 2 9x12 panels.

more little things
These boxes will be nice looking once I get them finished and coated with polyurethane.
And which way should the shelf go?
I prefer the last one but the first one works for me too.

Things I built today
They still need to be sanded though.
I made 9 crates and 2 trays.I had many more stickers, the wood I use for making the crates. I get them really cheap because they would get thrown away, so I buy them. I make whatever it is roughly. I sand afterwards. I am not that worried about the appearance. I don't want them to be a hot mess but the stickers are not always square, the same size (width and thickness, I take care of length) and not always smooth. They do make nice crates and such and look a bit rustic.
Also, since I had not moved the tarp covering the wood in a while, I had a new resident....
There were no eggs or babies in it. I didn't destroy it either, not yet anyway.

Things I have been working on
I have been working on the coasters. The base will get polyurethane, the coasters themselves will get tung oil, I think. I am not 100% on that yet. I am of the mindset that polyurethane causes the coasters to look beautiful but not very functional since the water will bead on the top and could run off. I usually leave mine plain. I recently heard that tung oil will treat the wood but not stop the absorption. It will slightly dull the wood color. I am thinking. I will decide when I decide.
I am also working on building a pochade box. I hope to be substantially complete this week on it
I also made some spice shelves and more crates, big and small.

little shelf
I made a couple of these this past week. I just have a pics of one but I made two. The are made of 1x3s. I also used the little strips that I use for the crates as the bar in the front. I wanted it to look like a spice rack in a way, though only small spice bottles can fit in the bottom shelf. I may make some more but make them slightly taller.

Bo(ok) ends
Made these for one of Lori's friends at work. He gave me a hunk of a tree thinking it would make a good table top but it split. Lori suggested bookends. Great idea

I tried a little sale today
I started at the house today in the front yard trying to sell. I had no one stop.
So I loaded the truck and went to Azalea Square to try that area. I had the same result. Nothing.
I went to Walmart. Nothing
Back near Azalea Square. Nothing and as I was getting ready to break it down someone stopped and bought 2 cards. I was happy for the sale and it did not make it a complete loss. It was nearly a complete loss but not after buying 2 cards.

New style box with lid
I like boxes. I like making boxes. I don't know why, I just do. I am not great at them but most that I make are nice enough. I went down the rabbit hole of youtube as many do and get stuck in it frequently. Steve Ramsey had one on how to make a basic box. I liked it and have been making several simple, basic boxes.
I will make more tomorrow. Along with many other things
The one above was made the other day. It is now painted grey and sitting on a shelf in Lori's bathroom.
Those were made today. I should probably get better at taking pics of my work or at least crop them better.

And....more boxes and crates
I made a couple of cherry wood boxes and some more crates. I tried a new box style that what I have done before. More on that on next post.
As far as the crates go, I think I am up to 60+ of all sorts of varying sizes and shapes.
